EYE FOLLOW IN YOUR SHADOW

Hello Fabulous,

We hope that everyone has had a great week and looking forward to the weekend ahead! Following our last beauty blog on the perfect shaped eyebrow we thought it would only to be fit to teach you how to complement those brows with some eye shadow tips and tricks!!!

We heart Beyonce amazing smokey eyes!

Using eye shadow is about playing with colour and having fun with your look.  It can be used to embolden your eyes, or play up their colour.  A popular and sophisticated look this Autumn and Winter is a smokey eye using warm brown shades. Try doing it yourself with the below quick lesson! Have fun.

Step 1: Over the whole eye lid area apply a yellow based concealer and set with NPs amazingly soft translucent powder.

Step 2: Warm up an eye pencil, run it back and forth over your hand a few times (the warmer the pencil the smoother the application).  Draw a thick line from the outer to inner corner of your eye line, along your top lash line, getting as close to your lashes as possible.  Set this with a beautiful dark brown shadow, all along this line, using a pressing motion and an angled brush.

Step 3: Now soften this by applying a peachy beige eye shadow to your socket line, blending well with the amazing NP 16b brush.

Step 4: Add your highlighter eye shadow to the inner corners and under your eyebrow arch.

Step 5: Smudge the dark brown eye shadow under the lower lash line to create a soft line.  Line top and bottom lashes with China Doll Gel Eyeliner in Bronze, to really define the eyes, this exceptional waterproof gel eyeliner can also be applied to the inner rim for an evening look which is highly recommended.  Finish with two coats of Madam Curl Curl mascara and you are ready to go!

Why not stop by our on-line shop and pick up some of the mentioned products, or if you would like to learn firsthand why not have a Runway Express party??? For more details contact Abbey at abbey@runwayexpress.com.au

Eye spy with my little eye!

Hello Fabulous,

Some of our favourite celebrity eyebrows
In some ways your eyebrows can be the bane of your existence! Plucking, waxing, threading, laser can just get all too much and a little too painful but let me tell you ladies your eyebrows are the window to your face! A perfect set of eyebrows takes a little bit of effort but worth every minute! Perfectly arched eyebrows can work all sorts of magic on your face.

Miraculously your eyes will look bigger and brighter, your cheekbones more defined, your face thinner - in fact the only thing good brows won't do for you is sort your 3pm chocolate cravings.  Mmmm chocolate. Below are some tips on how to get those brows arched and perfectly manicured!

How to get the Perfect Shape:

A good idea is to get them professionally waxed or plucked for the first time, to establish the shape.  Then you can go for gold.   To find the right shape line a pencil vertically alongside your nose.  This is where the brow should begin.  It should end just a smidgen past the outer corner of the eye.  Your arch should begin directly below your iris.

Filling in your eyebrows is seriously underrated.  Even if you have naturally dark brows, filling them in with a matt eye shadow or eyebrow pencil will make all the difference to your eye makeup, especially a strong smokey eye will stand out so much more.
We heart Megan Gale's brows!
Shade in your brows before you start the rest of your makeup, it will help you avoid over application of other makeup as they 'set the scene'.  Always go for a shade lighter than your hair.  Napoleon Perdis have an amazing retractable eyebrow pencil, which is fine-tipped, so handy for lightly 'stroking' through the brows concentrating on any sparse patches and can  be used to slightly extend bows if they have been over plucked.  Try NP eyebrow pencil in Pale Rider (shop here).

Don't worry about looking like an 80's throwback, by using a light shade you are merely defining - and now use a clean or disposable mascara wand to comb the product through, setting hairs at the same time, in an up and out direction.

Finish with some highlighter under your arch to really polish your look.

Workin 9 til 5

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

We love the feeling of the last day of the week in the office there is something spectacular about Friday’s and no matter what happens today you will be able to shrug it off knowing that the weekend is within sight! So we thought that today’s beauty tip should be for all the working girls putting in their 9 til 5. Yep you guessed it this week we are giving you tips on the perfect work make-up!

A little to much for the office?
Image sourced from www.fuk.co.uk
Let's not pretend that we haven't sat next to in the office or come across a drag queen inspired receptionist that has greeted you at your accountant or maybe solicitors where it is like a disco on their face. Well we say no more to the OTT work make-up and hello professional and gorgeous looking staff!
With majority of reception staff being female and the first person to greet the client on arrival we think it is your duty as somewhat the face of the company to look AMAZING (plus who doesn’t want to look good?)!

So no more Studio 54 at work it's time to be smart and savvy and here is how to achieve the perfect look with our favourite products!

Step 1: You will want to look polished and professional with makeup that has longevity.  That means using NP Auto Pilot Primer under your foundation and setting your foundation with Camera Finish for an all day impeccable finish.

Step 2: Blend a grey or brown shimmer powder all over lid and along bottom lash line, and apply a pearl highlighter along brow bone.  Rim eyes with NP black pencil, curl lashes and apply mascara. Finish with a brown based lipstick and a sheer tawny blush or bronzer.

Step 3: Keep your lipstick and camera finish on hand to touch up before meetings, or our favourite long lunch dates!
The perfect office look

Well enjoy what is left of the working week ladies! If you like any of our tips why not stop by at our on-line shop and pick up some NP products at a great price?

Meet the lovely Nikola

HELLO FABULOUS,

Make-up by Nikola
Hi I am Nikola and Makeup Artistry is my passion!  Creating a feeling of excitement and confidence for a client is truly what I take pleasure in.

After working on fun makeup looks for a L'Oreal Fashion Week Show for a friends label I decided to take my painting background and expand my skills to include faces and bodies. I moved from Wellington (New Zealand) to Christchurch in 2004 and studied full time for a year, completing my Certificate of Makeup Design and Production at the NZ College of Design & Arts.

Make-up by Nikola
In the past eight years I have gained a wide range of experiences, working on several films, theatre productions, fashion shows, photo shoots and for makeup and skincare companies.  Highlights have been working as Head of Special Effects for the Montana World of Wearable Arts Awards in Nelson and Wellington, and working with New Zealand’s top award winning artists Body FX on various body art designs.

I especially love beauty makeup’s and creating illusions with makeup, not surgery. After working and travelling across the USA I moved to Australia with my now fiancĂ© and have been busy first managing a cosmetics store, and then one year ago joining up with Runway Express Experience to share my makeup application knowledge at our wonderful parties, and offer my makeup artistry skills to many ladies needing a professional treat for their wedding party, school formal, or photo shoot.

When I'm not wielding my makeup brushes I enjoy decorating cakes, painting with acrylics, illustrating children’s books, flower arranging and enjoying nature.  I am now eagerly awaiting what I believe will be my greatest creation yet, a little baby in two weeks!  I look forward to meeting many more beautiful people and helping them achieve their desired look.

Love Nikola x o x o
